Job Title: Bakery Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bakery Assistant to join our team. As a key member of the bakery team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily operations and work in the bakery kitchen to create high-quality bakery products.
  • Follow instructions and recommendations from the Executive Sous Chef to complete daily tasks.
  • E nsure the highest standards and consistent quality in daily preparation, keeping up-to-date with new bakery recipes and techniques.
  • Coordinate daily requirements for food preparation and participate in setting up buffets and special functions.
  • Consult on daily bakery requirements, functions, and last-minute events.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene within the bakery kitchen.

What We Need From You:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef in a bakery environment.
  • Proficiency in local health, safety, and HACCP regulations.
  • The strength to lift, push, and pull big objects (up to 50lbs/23kg), which may involve bending and kneeling.
  • A good grasp of reading, writing, and basic maths.
  • Flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Compliance with local laws regarding food handling and serving alcohol.
  • Great communication skills - be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to.
