Job Summary


The Computing Teacher/STEAM Coordinator is a vital role in our academic team, responsible for training teachers and maintaining teaching consistency using the SABIS methodology and system.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Teacher Support: Manage teacher substitutions for absent staff to ensure classes are taught according to lesson plans.
  • Student Performance Analysis: Check SABIS AMS results and analyze students' performance, following up on failed concepts and errors during testing sessions.
  • Classroom Observations: Conduct daily class observations to ensure proper application of the SABIS Point System and provide feedback to teachers on their performance.
  • Progress Meetings: Meet with relevant staff to check students' progress and develop action plans to improve academic results.
  • Complaint Resolution: Follow up on teachers' complaints with AQC(s) and/or School Director.
  • Resource Allocation: Assign marking and manage teachers' timetables for an equal distribution of workload.
  • Teaching Materials: Ensure availability of teaching materials (pacing charts, sample questions, basic questions, lesson plans, exam timetables, etc.) for teachers' use.
  • Performance Appraisals: Conduct performance appraisals of teachers in coordination with AQC(s) and develop/implement improvement plans.
  • Reporting: Submit weekly reports to School Director and AQC(s) regarding teachers' performance.
  • Classroom Assignments: Review and suggest teachers' classroom assignments at the beginning of the year for different classes to ensure each section has suitable teachers.
  • Training Workshops: Conduct teachers' training workshops to improve subject knowledge and teaching methods for specific concepts using the SABIS system.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control and submit all exam results for the division to the IT Department for consistency and timely completion of marking.
  • Feedback: Provide feedback to the Regional Center on pacing charts, exams, curriculum, etc.
  • Support Sessions: Organize and manage academic support sessions for struggling students in coordination with AQC(s) and SLC.
  • Pacing Chart Compliance: Ensure all teachers follow pacing charts in a timely manner and develop action plans for those falling behind.
  • Display Maintenance: Ensure classrooms' displays are updated and appropriate and corridors are well maintained.
  • Exam Schedules: Ensure students receive exam schedules, revision material, SABIS AMS, and periodic/final study lists as per pacing chart (when applicable to a specific grade).
  • Study Material Distribution: Distribute study materials to teachers such as AMS sample questions to prepare students for weekly exams (when applicable to a specific grade).
  • Reading Exams: Schedule and conduct reading exams for students (when applicable to a specific grade).
  • Exam Planning: Plan schedules of periodic exams in conjunction with AQC(s) and Regional Center to ensure exams are conducted at appropriate timing and correct frequency (when applicable to a specific grade).
  • Taught Classes: Teach assigned classes using provided lesson plans for their subject(s) to teach using the SABIS point system.

Ideal Requirements:



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or any related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Language: English Proficient/Native English Speaker (depending on subject).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in the SABIS Network preferred but not necessary.
  • Behavior: Professional behavior and ethical conduct, delivering results, continuous learning, accountability, and taking ownership.
