About the role
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Hospitality professional to join the pre-opening and the Food & Beverage team at Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort. The main purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction across all aspects of Food & Beverage operations across the resort, including the provision of high-quality service and guest experiences, through the delivery of an overall smooth and economical running of F&B operations in line with the Group's policies and standards.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
 
  • As this role is Pre Opening and leads into an Operational situation, the Director of F&B is expected to prepare and be involved in all aspects of Pre-Opening from strategy to implementation and related activities as may be necessary.
  • Support, in conjunction with the General Manager, the definition of the resort overall strategy in terms of pricing, placement and branding of F&B outlets within the resort to ensure alignment with brand expectation.
  • Participate in the preparation of the group's F&B annual business plan, and Sales & Marketing plans to ensure performance is monitored and reported so that necessary actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the resort budget and monitor the financial performance of the F&B outlets versus the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
  • Plan, direct and monitor services and F&B standards in all outlets and kitchens ensuring that managers take corrective actions as necessary in adherence to Jumeirah policies and standards.
  • Monitor closely the profitability of all F&B outlets in order to provide solutions to improve performance and direct in implementing corrective measures.
  • Monitor the activities and trends of competitor hotels, restaurants, and bars to identify and act on opportunities to modernize equipment, service methods, and product presentation so that guest satisfaction is improved continuously and the competitive advantage of the resort is sustained.
  • Ensure all F&B colleagues adhere to uniform and grooming standards, and that hygiene standards are relentlessly enforced to demonstrate a professional image consistent with Jumeirah brand.
  • Participate in public relations activities, sales calls or other promotional activities designed at enhancing the image and profitability of the F&B department and resort.
  • Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developping staff, and providing formal and informal feedback in order to maximize overall performance and team motivation while continuing to deploy resources effectively for growth and further strengthening the employee value proposition.
  • Recommend improvements to departmental policy and manage the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while ensuring that Jumeirah Group delivers world class services, excellence, and innovation.
  • Motivate subordinates and identify opportunities for participating in change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account international best practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
About You
In order to be considered for this role, we are looking for someone holding a Bachelor's degree of Hospitality, Business, or any relevant field from an accredited renowned University.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in progressively more responsible F&B operations roles within the international hospitality sector.
