IT Support

Job Purpose:

To provide technical support and ensure smooth operation of IT systems, networks, and hardware across construction sites and office locations. The IT Support role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining equipment, and assisting site and office staff with software, hardware, and connectivity issues.

Key Responsibilities:1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide first-line IT support to office and site employees.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems (desktops, laptops, printers, routers, etc.).
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and construction-related software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, ERP systems).
• Assist users with email, VPN, and remote connectivity issues.
• Maintain CCTV systems, access control devices, and biometric attendance systems if applicable.

2. Network & System Management

• Maintain LAN/WAN connections between head office and construction sites.
• Ensure reliable internet and network performance across multiple locations.
• Assist in setting up IT infrastructure at new construction sites and project offices.
• Support servers, storage, and data backup systems.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices including firewalls, antivirus, and data protection.

3. Hardware & Software Maintenance

• Manage IT inventory, procurement, and asset tracking.
• Coordinate repairs, replacements, and upgrades of IT equipment.
• Install licensed software and ensure compliance with IT policies.
• Perform regular system updates and security patches.

4. User Training & Documentation

• Train employees on IT tools, software usage, and safe computing practices.
• Create and maintain IT documentation (user manuals, asset records, issue logs).
• Support digital transformation initiatives like cloud adoption and document management systems.

5. Coordination & Reporting

• Liaise with vendors and service providers for IT maintenance and support contracts.
• Prepare reports on system uptime, issue resolution, and IT asset utilization.
• Support IT Manager in planning upgrades and technology implementations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2–5 years of IT support experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or project-based environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with construction-related software (AutoCAD, ERP, MS Project) is a plus.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data backup management.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.
