Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior IT Project Manager to lead and advise on large-scale National Biometric and eIdentity system implementations in Manama, Bahrain. This is a full-time expatriate position requiring long-term on-site presence (minimum 3 years) in Bahrain.

You will act as the key advisor to the official project manager on the client side, ensuring the smooth planning, execution, and delivery of all project phases in collaboration with international and local partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical advisory support to the client's project management team for major international IT programs.
• Oversee and coordinate all project lifecycle phases — from requirements analysis and planning to implementation, testing, and acceptance.
• Lead and support multidisciplinary project teams and liaise with external partners and system suppliers across the GCC.
• Monitor quality, timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual and technical standards.
• Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive management and transparent communication with stakeholders.
• Prepare and present progress reports to both clients and internal management.

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory (MUST) criteria
:

• Master's degree from an accredited European or U.S. university in a technical or business discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Management).
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience managing or advising on large-scale international IT projects.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP / PMI).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering at least 3 complex government or public-sector IT security projects with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred
:

• Strong understanding of both traditional and agile project management methods (e.g., PMI, Scrum, SAFe) and experience applying hybrid approaches.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English (professional level).
• Knowledge of Arabic or German is an advantage.
• High degree of intercultural competence, flexibility, and willingness to live and work in the Gulf region for several years.
