Pay10 Bahrain is seeking for a driven and knowledgeable Merchant Acquiring Manager to lead and grow our business in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for expanding our merchant network, managing key acquiring relationships, optimizing processing infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and card scheme rules. This role requires a blend of commercial acumen, technical understanding of acquiring platforms, and a deep knowledge of the Bahrain payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the merchant acquiring strategy to grow transaction volume, profitability, and market share in Bahrain.
  • Identify, target, and onboard new merchants, with a focus on high-value verticals such as retail, hospitality, healthcare, and e-commerce.
  • Build and manage relationships with merchants, PSPs, and payment aggregators.
  • Lead the negotiation and execution of merchant contracts and pricing models.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding, KYC/AML compliance, and integration of merchants to acquiring systems in accordance with Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize acquiring operations including transaction flows, settlement, chargebacks, fraud management, and reconciliation.
  • Track and analyze merchant performance, providing actionable insights to drive growth and retention.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including risk, legal, IT, and product to improve merchant experience and acquiring infrastructure.
  • Stay up to date with card scheme (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) rules and ensure full compliance.
  • Represent the acquiring function in regulatory audits, partner discussions, and cross-functional projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in merchant acquiring, card payments, or payment services within a bank, fintech, or PSP.
  • Deep knowledge of the acquiring value chain, card scheme rules, settlement cycles, interchange fees, and risk management.
  • Strong understanding of Bahrain's regulatory environment, including CBB guidelines and merchant onboarding rules.
  • Proven track record of growing merchant portfolios and managing complex commercial relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Salesforce).

Preferred experience:

  • Arabic language skills (spoken and written) are an advantage.
  • Experience with payment gateways.
  • Familiarity with tokenization, 3DS, PCI-DSS, and fraud prevention technologies.
  • Network of contacts within Bahrain's merchant and payments ecosystem.
