About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Merchant Acquisition Manager to drive the growth of our payment solutions across the SME segment in Bahrain. This role requires a dynamic individual who can operate as both an individual contributor and a team manager, responsible for acquiring merchants, managing relationships, and leading a sales team.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the payments ecosystem and experience in industries such as FinTech, Payment Service Providers (PSPs), Telecom, POS solutions, or related technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Merchant Acquisition & Sales:

  • Identify and target SMEs and retail businesses suitable for adopting payment solutions (QR payments, digital wallets, etc.).
  • Execute the end-to-end sales process: prospecting, pitching, closing, and onboarding merchants.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly acquisition targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in SMEs.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor a small sales team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor team KPIs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to streamline merchant onboarding and support.

Market & Industry Insight:

  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and customer behaviour in Bahrain.
  • Provide actionable feedback to product and marketing teams for improvements and promotions.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline, and market insights.
  • Analyze sales metrics to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in B2B sales, preferably in FinTech, PSPs, Telecom, or POS solutions.
  • Experience managing a small team is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of acquiring and managing SME accounts.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the payments ecosystem and SME market in Bahrain is a plus.
