Job Title: Public Relations Officer
Reports to: University President
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, develop, and execute public relations strategies for the university.
- Communicate and network with internal and external stakeholders regularly, including media organizations, representing and promoting GU's excellence as an institution of higher learning.
- SUPPORTING UNIVERSITY MISSION AND STRATEGIC GOALS by delivering core values to internal and external constituencies through publications, media relations, photography, and electronic communications.
- Celebrate and share news and accomplishments of academic programs, alumni, faculty, leadership, partners, staff, and students.
- Increase overall reputation and awareness of the university.
- Assist in expanding university engagement with communities in the public and private sectors.
- Work with media outlets to tell the GU story.
- Develop effective internal communications to help the GU campus community.
- Understand and share the GU brand story consistently.
- Ensure flexibility and usability of GU branded marks and marketing collateral.
- Maintain brand compliance across various university channels.
- Create a comprehensive university brand campaign that supports the values identified in the GU strategic plan and resonates with target audiences.
- Impact social media and reach people via multiple channels with updates and posts about university events, activities, achievements, and announcements.
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in business/management/media studies/marketing/social science.
- At least 1 year of working experience in a PR office in higher education institutions.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in PR, marketing, media, and communications industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Able to work in teams and within deadlines.
- Creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
- Networking and negotiation skills with a strategy-driven approach.
