We lead an effective hiring ecosystem to deliver talent acquisition excellence, weaving behavioural science throughout our selection process and working with the Hiring Leadership team who drive hiring at Canonical.

We are hiring for a senior leadership role in the Talent Science team to lead delivery excellence. You will work directly with the Global Head of Talent Science and the people managers in the team. With accountability for project delivery relating to hiring outcomes you will deliver against strategic objectives, drive efficiencies and create new processes whilst coaching and developing team members to grow their careers. You will bring an analytical and objective approach to work, make data-driven decisions relating to talent outcomes, and be capable of leading the function when required. Experience with career frameworks and hiring outcomes is essential.

Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering the strategic Talent Science project roadmap using exceptional project management capability and influencing skills to manage multiple projects
• Designing and implementing solutions to complex problems to ensure we hire exceptional talent
• Ensuring all talent selection initiatives map to high performance outcomes and career frameworks
• Designing professional processes and frameworks in collaboration with management to enable efficient delivery
• Coaching and mentoring team members to develop analytical capabilities and thought leadership; developing training materials and documentation
• Driving and representing the team in the head of role's absence, acting as a credible adviser and leader
• Working closely with company leaders to understand and communicate our vision for talent at Canonical

What we are looking for in you

• Exceptional academic track record from high school and university, with an undergraduate degree in psychology or a people-based subject
• Experience leading teams in technology or consulting, with strong project management to lead roadmap delivery and product development
• Proven ability to coach and mentor a team to deliver exceptional results
• Deep understanding of selection, career frameworks and building internal products to align talent criteria with outcomes
• Advanced analytical ability to dissect and analyse data using SQL, Python and statistics
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills for a senior audience
• Ability to travel internationally up to four times per year for company events

Nice-to-have skills

• Advanced psychometric assessments with understanding of the marketplace and vendors
• Understanding of human behaviour and intrinsic motivation
• Experience using Superset and advanced dashboarding
