We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to spearhead growth for a leading paint manufacturer based in Bahrain.

The role focuses on expanding market presence across Bahrain, the GCC, and Africa by identifying new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving sales growth.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in within the paints, coatings, or construction materials sector, with strong regional market knowledge and excellent communication skills.

Location: Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, needs, and competitive landscape
    • Spot and evaluate new business opportunities in line with market requirements, identifying new products and business channels/segments for growth
      • Develop and execute strategic business development plans referring to current market atmosphere and competitor activities
        • Establish, manage, and maintain strong relationships with agents, distributors, and channel partners in target markets
          • Guide and support partners for enhanced performance through product development, market adaptation, and training
            • Manage existing key accounts while actively building new territory and customer networks
              • Collaborate with back office teams – technical, production, logistics, finance, and customer service – to ensure seamless business operations and customer satisfaction
                • Study and analyze regional markets for entry strategies and channel development, particularly in MEA regions
                  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing strategies, and related industry trends to maintain a competitive edge
                    • Support international expansion by exploring new markets, managing multi-channel distribution, and securing new distributor partnerships
                      • Coordinate and manage international logistics across land, sea, and air freight in alignment with Incoterms and regional compliance
                        • Travel up to 50% across Africa (e.g., Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Mozambique, Ivory Coast, etc.) and the Middle East (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait) for market visits, partner meetings, and on-the-ground business development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field
    • 5+ years of experience in business development, or market expansion
      • Strong understanding of market analysis, regional administration, and competitor intelligence
        • Proven ability to establish, manage, and optimize distribution/agent networks across international markets, especially MEA
          • Solid industry knowledge with a track record in product management and business channel development
            • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
              • Able to work independently, make decisions, and drive results across departments and geographies
                • Knowledge of international logistics and Incoterms (land, sea, and air freight)
                  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 50% as needed
