Position Overview

ZENDATA Bahrain is seeking a highly motivated Penetration Tester with a strong technical background in both IT and OT security to join our Offensive Security Division. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience performing security assessments, including penetration testing in critical and sensitive environments. This role requires a deep understanding of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) ecosystems, as well as experience working in regulated or high-risk industries such as energy, utilities, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure.

You will be responsible for delivering high-impact security assessments, reporting vulnerabilities with clarity, and advising organizations on how to strengthen their cyber resilience. You will operate on-site in Bahrain, with potential regional travel when required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct penetration tests on IT and OT environments including networks, applications, devices, and industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA).
  2. Execute vulnerability assessments and red team operations following industry methodologies such as OWASP, NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, and OSSTMM.
  3. Simulate real-world attacks to identify security gaps without causing operational disruption.
  4. Analyze, document, and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders with actionable mitigation recommendations.
  5. Collaborate with incident response, threat intelligence, and SOC teams to improve customer security posture.
  6. Stay current with emerging attack techniques and defensive technologies in both IT and OT landscapes.
  7. Support customers in risk assessment workshops, awareness sessions, and technical advisory.
  8. Ensure all activities are compliant with regulatory and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
  1. 3+ years of proven experience in penetration testing or red teaming.
  2. Solid knowledge of industrial networks, ICS/SCADA protocols (such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc.).
  3. Strong understanding of enterprise IT networks, Active Directory, cloud services, and application security.
  4. Familiarity with critical infrastructure environments and their operational constraints.
  5. Experience with tools such as Nmap, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Cobalt Strike, Kali Linux, etc.
  6. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, IEC 62443, ISO 27001) is a plus.
  7. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  8. Ability to work on-site in Bahrain, with occasional travel across the GCC region.
Preferred Certifications
  1. OSCP, OSWP, OSWE, OSEP or equivalent offensive security certifications.
  2. GICSP, GRID, or other OT security certifications.
  3. ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer (optional but appreciated).
  4. CREST Certification
