Job Description The Chief Operating Officer shall report to the President of the University. Responsibilities: Provide advice and propose recommendations to the President. Supervise staff administrative activities. Oversee the Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Facilities and Purchasing departments at the university. Ensure all requirements are met to accomplish and secure administrative processes. Be involved in the development and implementation of academic strategic planning. Manage all finances and collections. Manage the buildings and grounds, including repair, construction, and remodeling. Manage all purchases, including instructional materials, furniture, supplies, technology software, etc. Manage all staff salaries and benefits, including visas, housing for staff, salaries, benefits, and government personnel regulations. Be involved in personnel operations, including recruitment, contracting, termination, training, development, and induction programs for administrative staff, as well as staff disciplinary actions. Submit an annual report on the University's administrative and financial operations to the President of the University. Perform other duties assigned by the President of the University. Requirements: Hold a Ph D recognized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Have relevant academic and administrative experience. Be of good conduct and behavior, and not have been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude or dishonesty unless legally rehabilitated. Not have been dismissed from a job by a juridical judgment or disciplinary decision for reasons related to public morals. Be fit in terms of health. Not have committed any act that would harm the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain or harm its interests at home or abroad. Not hold a post in any political association or be involved in any activity of a political nature. Priorities: High administrative, guiding, and systematic decision-making skills. Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to create and maintain effective work relationships with staff. Ability to adapt to changes.
