TREATMENT STANDARDS/OPERATIONS
- Train team to perform all treatments to an exceptional standard, as per the Gulf Hotel protocols and standards taught in training, whilst tailoring to the client’s specific needs - Update own knowledge of products and treatment brand standards, outside of formal training by Gulf Spa and product line training. - Develop, refine and communicate changes in treatment protocol and menu of services. - Assign and oversee therapist duties and projects during their down time. - Formulate the correct quantities of products as specified by the manufacturer. Train therapist staff of procedure, and not to exceed that amount. - Perform therapist evaluations on a timely basis. - Maintain training, technical qualifications, and schedule on a daily basis. - Orient and train new therapists in technical duties and operations. - Maintain linen and product levels in the treatment rooms, ensuring trolleys are stocked, clean and organised as per the spa standards. - Create and maintain treatment room opening and closing procedures. - Perform opening and closing treatment room checks - cleanliness, hygiene, room set up, stock levels and maintenance checks - Support the Spa Manager by helping with stock control, stock takes and orders as requested.

SPA & RETAIL SALES - Responsible for achieving retail sales targets as set by the Spa Manager. - Train therapist team to ensure aftercare recommendations are made at the end of every treatment, linking with client concerns and offering to prepare products at reception for purchase. - Train team to encourage clients to return to the spa by recommending an ongoing treatment programme and cross selling the other business centres in the spa. Brief team of all treatments, packages and any promotions. - Participate in demonstrations/ events as required. - Assist Spa Manager in monitoring therapist targets and provide motivation and training where necessary.

GUEST RELATIONS - Provide a warm welcome to clientele whilst striving to provide outstanding service. - Responsible for providing treatments for VIPs and journalists, representing Gulf Spa and the Hotel as Ambassadors of the spa. - Maintain the highest standard of guest service by following Gulf Spa protocols and displaying genuine care and attention to detail. - Ensure that team is consistently recording guest preferences, accurately updating guest profiles and communicating any relevant information to colleagues. - Ensure confidentiality at all times including data protection, medical details and any information provided in confidence by the client. - Report any guest complaints to the Spa Manager so that they can be handled promptly and effectively.

HEALTH, SAFETY & HYGIENE - Train team to perform all treatments in a professional, hygienic and safe manner for all clients, updating knowledge and training regularly. - Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sterilisation and hygiene of all equipment, products and linens in the treatment and preparation areas, following Gulf Spa protocols. - Day to day responsibility for equipment, products, cleanliness and hygiene of the treatment and preparation areas. - Receive training on all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards. - Support the Spa Attendants where required in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the spa facilities.

OPERATIONS/GENERAL - Support the spa reception operation and maximise revenue opportunities and guest relations by undertaking reception and reservation duties as part of daily responsibilities. - Regularly update manuals and workbooks to ensure that all operational procedures are carried out in the prescribed manner. - Demonstrate a professional demeanour at all times, particularly with regard to punctuality, appearance and general manner. - Work a flexible schedule, including evening, early and weekend shifts. - Set an example to all therapists in daily work, professionalism and standards. - Maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene as laid down by the Spa Manager. - Identify challenges, and make suggestions for improvements and implement change. - Always be punctual and prepared in advance of treatments. - Support all departments in the spa including covering reception and spa attendant duties as and when required. - Responsible for motivation of therapists and to report to the Spa Manager on the ambience of the team at any given time. Core Competencies, Characteristics, and Qualifications Minimum four years’ experience as Spa Therapist, preferably in supervisor capacity. Minimum four years’ experience as Spa Therapist in a 5-star luxury hotel spa. Certification and/or degree from accredited spa institution preferred. Knowledge of multiple types of massage therapy, esthetics, and spa product brands. Able to work independently, with minimum supervision. Excellent teaching and training capabilities.
