Purchasing Manager

**Full Job Description**

**Job Purpose**

This on-site position supervises the operational/transactional buyers in purchasing inventory components, services, and other goods as required. Responsible for coordinating and expediting inventory components insuring compliance with department and corporate goals.

In particular, will continuously identify, qualify and manage economically and quality competitive suppliers and ensure purchasing activities comply with all legal and operational policies and procedures. Will also identify, qualify and manage suppliers and contractors to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and ensure compliance with all quality, corporate and legal requirements.

**Job Functions**:

- Identify and implement methods for improving purchasing department and supplier performance.
- Develop procedures and ensure compliance with all quality systems and governmental regulations.
- Oversee scheduling and expediting deliveries of raw materials and purchased finished goods.
- Contribute to the achievement of the entity’s financial objectives.
- Develop and maintain metrics to meet plant operational targets.
- Material Resource Planning: Ensure continuous flow of materials to avoid production delays, which affect the plant within desired inventory parameters.
- Staff development, cross training, and internal process documentation.
- Continuous process improvement of the MRP and purchasing processes.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Must have prior professional experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. (Preferably sterile manufacturing)
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Must have effective analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to facilitate the resolution of complex issues.
- knowledge of searching for outsourcing suppliers of raw materials (API) all over the world.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a degree in science, pharmacy, or related field required along with.
- A minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience in materials management, production planning, and purchasing in pharmaceutical manufacturing in a GMP-controlled environment.
