**Job Title Swimming Coordinator and Pool Manager**

**OVERVIEW**

The Swimming Coordinator and Pool Manager is responsible to design, maintain and monitor the swimming programme for ages 3 months and upwards at the BSB Swimming Academy. He/she will ensure smooth administrative running of the Swimming Academy; maintain and input all relevant data; increase numbers and potential of the Swimming Academy to its maximum capacity; and ensure that the swimming pool is appropriately maintained and managed for the benefit of the
School and outside users.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Swimming Coordinator**
- To design and keep under review, maintain, monitor and report back on a financially viable swimming programme that meets the needs of the BSB Swimming Academy customers.
- To create, maintain and keep under review a timetable of swimming lessons to meet the demand of the Swimming Academy.
- To assist in the administration of the computerised database of customer information, and set up the timetable and booking information in preparation for each terms bookings and payments for lesson rebookings.

- To be responsible for the assessment of all children in the swimming programme on a continuous basis to ensure that children move to the appropriate levels to ensure they progress to their maximum potential.
- To be present on the Pool Deck to carry out assessments; ensure staff are present and in correct lessons; liaise with parents; ensure children are in correct lessons; complete student attendance registers and ensure pool is clean and safe.
- To assist and advise Swimming Academy Coaches on the delivery of the Swim Programme.
- To provide cover for any Swimming Academy Coach at any level if other cover is not available.
- To teach swimming at any level when necessary.
- To communicate with the children’s parents / guardians concerning their development and advise on their progression through the programme and to complete certificates for children when moving levels.
- To communicate with parents/guardians whenever necessary both in writing; by telephone and in person.
- To liaise with the BSB Management and Facilities Operations concerning the operation of all matters and identifying any issues or problems with the pool, it’s surrounding area and other issues.
- Act as principle communicator between the BSB School Management and the Swimming

Coaches.
- To assist in the recruitment of the Swimming Coaches.
- To market the BSB Swimming Academy by all appropriate means.
- To organise, promote and officiate at Swimming Competitions in the Swimming Academy on a regular basis.
- To organise trip requirements for any competitions externally in or out country.
- To ensure all Swimming Academy Coaches are qualified through arrangements to TRA training and Safeguarding training.
- To conduct risk assessments whenever required.
- To assist the Head of Business Development in routinary performance checks for Swimming

Academy Coaches.
- To curate new programmes that can maximise income generation from swimming pool use.

**Pool Manager**
- Ensure that the swimming pool facility (including the pool itself, the pool hall, changing areas, toilets and other areas) is maintained to a high standard. This will necessarily include ad hoc cleaning (though note that the main daily cleaning will be done by others) and the appropriate setting up, management and storage of pool equipment. Working closely with the Head of

Facilities and Maintenance to ensure that a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the facilities at all times.
- Review and maintain the normal and emergency operating policies and procedures for the swimming pool facility, ensure they are adhered to and are reviewed regularly to make sure they are up to date with current regulations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements at all times, including regularly taking water samples for quality testing, i.e. take water quality samples.
- Manage all bookings and plans for the use of the swimming pool throughout the year
- Perform inspection of pool safety equipment including rescue aids and alarms in accordance with the operating procedures.
