**Job title / Role: DIRECTOR OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS (DFO)**
**Work location: MAE Aircraft Management W.L.L. (MAE), Bahrain**
**Department: FLIGHT OPERATIONS**
**Superior: ACCOUNTABLE MANAGER**
**Full-time Part-time**

**A. Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. To be responsible for the flight operations of MAE ensuring that the highest levels of safety, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency are achieved and maintained.
2. Ensure that the Airline meets or exceeds applicable regulatory and legal requirements and holds the appropriate approvals to conduct its operations.
3. To provide an operational input to the construction of MAE’s business plan.
4. To co-ordinate and lead the flight operations management team.
5. Ensure that Flight Operations staff is given the appropriate resources and training consistent with a safe and economical operation.
6. Ensure that all flight operations activities comply with the companies AOC and the BCAA (ANTR’S)
7. Setting and maintaining the flight operating standards, procedures, and operating mínima for MAE.
8. Setting and monitoring the safety standards of the Flight Operations Department.
9. Establishing an appropriate level of training for flight operations personnel and ensuring the training is carried out to the approved standards.
10. The content and amendment of all Flight Operations manuals and the issuance of flying staff instructions.
11. The coordination of operational requirements with the Maintenance Department
12. Company Operating Specifications and liaison with the Flight Operations Inspectors and other regulatory representatives.
13. To co-ordinate the operational functions of MAE to meet, in the most economic manner, the requirements of the Company’s commercial programmed within the constraints of the Bahrain Air Navigation Technical Regulations, ANTR-OPS 1 requirements, the Company AOC and the Company’s own safety standards.
14. Responsible for approving operational strategy, planning and policy for all Flight Operations departments while constantly reviewing their overall performance and activities against set objectives.
15. Responsible for the Flight Operations Department manning levels to ensure a sufficient complement of properly qualified personnel; this will include the approval of any planned.
16. Directing and establishing Emergency Procedures and Incident Centre facilities necessary for the management of aircraft accidents or incidents.
17. Defining, implementing, and monitoring safety and security standards and procedures adopted by the airline within relevant legislation together with all other national and international requirements and advice.
18. The position holder must demonstrate a positive liaison with regulatory authorities, the Technical, Quality, Safety & Security Departments. In addition, he shall liaise with the approved training provider, air traffic control providers and with the flight scheduling personnel.
19. He shall also liaise with the Financial and OCC Managers to help provide an economic solution to scheduling and flight routing.
20. Assist the Operations Manager in schedule changes, new routes, and destinations. He shall demonstrate an ability to refer to approved established procedures to ensure that flight safety or regulatory compliance is maintained.
21. Utilize the best possible use of resources ensuring that flight safety and regulatory compliance is maintained to provide the best economic benefit to the company.
22. Keep current on the most utilized aircraft type to keep abreast of the operational aspects of MAE. In doing so he shall ensure that the administration and compliance of Flight Operations is kept current.
23. Monitor crewing levels regarding the aircraft utilization and schedules. In addition, he/she shall select appropriately qualified personnel to ensure that a high level of experience is maintained appropriate to the types of operation being conducted.
24. Determine the team structure, roles, performance targets and goals at regional level to develop a high
- performance team that is customer-driven, service focused, cost-conscious and responsive to competing regional and global demands.
25. Leading and motivating all his department’s personnel at all levels.
26. Recruit new hires according to internal guidelines and procedures Within the constraints of Company policy, directing and establishing reasonable opportunities for career prospects and enhancement together with appropriate training.
27. Support OCC operations as required.
28. Flight operations are conducted in accordance with the conditions and restrictions of the Air Operator
Certificate BAH- 10, and in compliance with ANTR-OPS 1 and standards of MAE.
