Speech/language Pathologist

**Duties**:

- You will serve as a multi-disciplinary Early Intervention (EI) team member to identify children (newborn to age 3) that are eligible for EI services.
- You will conduct various speech, language, and voice screenings for referred eligible children.
- You will serve as case coordinator for identified children on Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP).
- You will be expected to provide services with close involvement from family members.
- You will initiate transitions to school related services for children on an IFSP.
- You will provide consultation and technical assistance to other EI team members.

- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
- This position may require you to be on-call on a rotational basis, responding to emergency calls at times beyond the normal duty day.
- This position may require you to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or during special situations.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.

**Who May Apply: US Citizens**Specialized Experience**:In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Speech Pathologist identifying and diagnosing speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders for infants and toddlers and formulating treatment programs based on individual needs.**Licensure/Certification**: You must possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States

You must have successfully completed a graduate or higher-level graduate degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of speech pathology with approved clinical practice. The degree must have been approved, recognized, or accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) at the time it was obtained
