Job Title: Master

As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for overseeing vessel operations and ensuring crew safety and security.

The role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and effective communication to ensure compliance with safety management systems and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the crew in ensuring vessel operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Review and report on the safety management system to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain valid statutory certification to operate the vessel.
  • Ensure crew adhere to safety procedures and protocols, and motivate them to take ownership of their responsibilities.
  • Coordinate crew attendance and ensure operational readiness.
  • Comply with health, safety, environmental, and security procedures as per regulations.
  • Manage crew discipline and escalate issues as needed.
  • Supervise and assist with tug maintenance to ensure the vessel is seaworthy.
  • Prepare operational reports when required, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Participate in safety training and train other crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Induct visitors and authorized personnel onboard, adhering to security protocols.
  • Participate in operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure availability of resources for onboard activities, including equipment and supplies.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation and regulations governing vessel operations.
  • Discharge crew members posing onboard risks if necessary, following established procedures.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Hold II/3 - Master less than 500GT – NCV certification.
  • Possess Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1).
  • Have Proficiency in Medical Care On Board Ship (STCW Code A-VI/4-2).
  • Be proficient in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (STCW A-VI/2).
  • Hold Advanced Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/3) certification.
  • Have Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (A-VI/6).
