Financial Reporting Manager - Retail Job Description

The purpose of this role is to oversee financial reporting and reconciliation processes, as well as inventory management functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly accounts, compile quarterly consolidated accounts for statutory audit, liaise with external auditors on a quarterly basis, ensure timely completion and submission of quarterly statutory accounts as required.
  2. Inventory Management: Review stock control perpetual count plans, make changes as necessary, review bi-annual full stock count plans with the Stock Control manager, analyze inventory adjustments for posting to the general ledger, supervise the financial reporting function.
  3. IT: Ensure all internal controls on the company accounting system are in place through regular system monitoring and testing.
  4. Other Responsibilities: Supervise the Accounts Department, Inventory Control Department, liaise with suppliers on a monthly basis to ensure discrepancies are cleared and addressed promptly.
Requirements:
  • Accounting System Skills: Good accounting system skills, experience with retail or FMCG industry.
  • Qualifications: Degree-educated (accountancy or finance), qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Person Specification: Ability to be both strategic and operational, logical and practical outlook on processes, ability to clearly express ideas and facts in written and verbal form, excellent presentation, report-writing, meeting management, facilitation skills.
