Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Steward to join our team. As a Steward, you will be responsible for leading the Back of House Department and ensuring that it runs efficiently and consistently meets high standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Train, support and motivate the Back of House Team to deliver exceptional Guest and Member experiences.
  • Manage cleaning schedules, observe safety guidelines and ensure that machinery is operated properly, efficiently and safely.
  • Run the Back of House Department efficiently and maintain high cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure the flow and supply of operating equipment meets bar, banqueting and restaurant requirements.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of all food and beverage outlets and the Team Restaurant.
  • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities.
  • Work with the banqueting functions to ensure accurate and timely preparation of individual plates/orders.
  • Report faults, misused or damaged equipment issues to the Back of House Manager, Head Chef and/or Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist in the location, movement and storage of operational equipment.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task set by the Hotel's Management.

Requirements:

  • Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of various work situations.

Advantageous:

  • A high school certificate or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in the hotel or leisure industry.
