About the Role

At our organization, we're building a platform that relies heavily on open source technology. To achieve this vision, we need talented software engineers who are passionate about working with Go.

We're looking for individuals who can design and implement well-tested software, debug issues, participate in code reviews, collaborate with colleagues and community members on technical specifications, seek improvements to engineering practices, deploy and operate services developed by the team, and contribute to the success of their product through technical advocacy.

Key Requirements
  • A strong academic track record from both high school and university
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent narrative about alternative education paths
  • The drive and ability to exceed expectations
  • Well-organized, self-starting, and able to deliver results on time
  • A professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues, partners, and community members
  • Experience designing and writing high-quality Go software on Linux
  • Experience with and passion for Linux at the system level
  • For more senior roles, experience building, deploying, and operating distributed systems and APIs
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
  • Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Experience developing for Ubuntu Linux
  • Experience with Juju, LXD, Microk8s, Snapd, Ubuntu Core, Ubuntu Pro
  • Performance engineering and security expertise
