Job Description:

  • As a Commis Chef – Bakery, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operation and work in the bakery kitchen, creating high-quality and creative bakery products.
  • You will follow instructions and recommendations from the Executive Sous Chef to complete daily tasks.
  • You will ensure highest standards and consistent quality in daily preparation and stay up-to-date with new bakery recipes and preparation techniques.
  • You will coordinate daily requirements in food preparation and actively participate in bakery setup of buffets and special functions.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef in a Bakery.
  • Proficient with local rules and regulations involving Health, Safety, and HACCP.
  • The strength to lift, push, and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling.
  • A good grasp of reading, writing, and basic maths.
  • The flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol.
  • GREAT communication – you'll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to.
