Clinical Leader for Addiction and Mental Health

Job Description:
The Clinical Director of the De-Addiction and Mental Health Center provides strategic leadership and oversight of all medical services within the facility. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight of all medical aspects of patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management
- Implement clinical protocols and practice guidelines for addiction and psychiatric treatment
- Lead the multidisciplinary treatment team and facilitate case conferences
- Provide direct patient care as needed, including evaluations and medication management
- Review and approve treatment plans for complex cases
- Oversight of detoxification protocols and medication-assisted treatment programs
- Ensure appropriate management of psychiatric emergencies and crises
Administrative Duties:
- Establish and maintain quality assurance and improvement programs
- Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with current best practices
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., NHRA, LMRA, MOH)
- Participate in strategic planning and program development
- Review and analyze clinical outcomes data to improve service delivery
- Manage relationships with external healthcare partners and referral sources
- Participate in budgeting and resource allocation decisions
- Oversight of medical documentation standards and electronic health record implementation
Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit, supervise, and evaluate physicians and advanced practice providers
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to medical team members
- Facilitate continuing education programs for clinical staff
- Foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to patient care
- Promote a culture of excellence, empathy, and ethical practice
- Ensure appropriate credentialing and privileging of medical staff
Education and Outreach:
- Represent the center at community events and professional conferences
- Establish relationships with academic institutions for training opportunities
- Stay current with emerging research and treatment modalities in addiction medicine and psychiatry
- Advocate for evidence-based approaches to substance use and mental health treatment
Qualifications:
- MD from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, or Addiction Psychiatry
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field
- Current state medical license in good standing
- Minimum 10 years of clinical experience in addiction treatment and/or mental health settings
- More than 5 years in leadership or administrative role
- Experience with medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for behavioral health facilities
- Experience with various treatment modalities (detoxification, residential, outpatient)
