Facilities Maintenance Specialist

This role involves overseeing the maintenance and operation of various building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management and be able to develop and implement effective preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Maintenance and Operations:
  1. Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of building systems and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and timelines for small to medium-scale facilities projects.
  3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  4. Evaluate vendor quotes for cost-effectiveness and technical compliance.
  5. Assist in the procurement process for facility-related goods and services.
  • Project Management:
  1. Develop project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  2. Prepare routine administrative reports as required.
  3. Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve environmental sustainability.
  • Energy Management and Sustainability:
  1. Stay updated on current energy efficiency technologies and best practices.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  1. Conduct regular facility inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  2. Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols related to facility operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and project documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience in managing facilities maintenance programs and projects.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFM, P.E.) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software is a plus.
