The Role of a Project Manager

Job Summary

A successful Project Manager leads projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and meeting business objectives.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate project communication and facilitate discussions when conflicts arise.
  • Develop resource plans and allocate resources effectively.
  • Develop project plans using appropriate planning techniques, tracking progress towards critical business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the product team to improve software development processes.
  • Evaluate and assess project results, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement process changes as necessary.
  • Provide a gap analysis based on current practice, process, and systems.
  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for teams working on shared projects.
  • Communicate project status and progress to executives or stakeholders.
  • Perform quality control throughout project development.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing IT projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • An IT-related degree; a master's degree is an asset.
  • Strong technical writing skills to create project plans, perform gap analysis, and quality control.
