Senior Operations Controller Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and coordinating actions of the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) core team to maximize day's performance respecting policies & guidelines.

Main Objectives
  • Provide solutions to Directors of Management for schedule recovery for extended IOC Control Periods.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations control, with experience in automated systems such as Airops, WOTP and RIO. They will be fluent in oral and written English and hold a relevant qualification such as an FAA Dispatcher or ICAO Flight Operations Officer License.

Main Duties
  1. Oversee:
    • Monitor system situation (fleet, crew, stations and weather) and anticipate disruptions.
    • Ensure corrective actions are taken by Ops Controllers.
    • Provide support to Operations Controllers in problem solving and respect of GF Policies & Procedures.
    • Coordinate with Gulf Air Tec Services and MCC (for aircraft downtime), Flight Dispatch (weather and NOTAMS) and Crew Control (crew disruption).
    • Automatically implement and publish extended schedule changes with minimal impact on the system.
    • Liaise with relevant functions to inform of extended schedule changes.
  2. Coordination for problem solving:
    • Ensure smooth and accurate information flow between IOC core team members for disruptions affecting all aspects of problem solving.
    • Coordinate Emergency response as directed by DM.
  3. Reporting:
    • Update RIO System for own changes.
    • Inform other functions, stations and external entities on delay amount delay codes allocation.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years' experience within the Operations Department of a major international airline, with at least 2 successful years in Operations Control. They will possess substantial experience of automated operations control systems.
