Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled
Head Chef specializing in Arabic cuisine
to lead the culinary operations of a new restaurant opening in Bahrain. The ideal candidate is available
immediately
, has a strong background in Levantine and Gulf culinary traditions, and excels in managing kitchen brigades, menu development, and operational excellence for a high-standard, contemporary concept.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee all kitchen operations for the pre-opening and post-opening phases.
  • Lead, train, and supervise the full kitchen team to ensure consistent quality and performance.
  • Establish all culinary standards, workflows, and production procedures.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations, including service execution, mise en place management, and food presentation.

Menu Development

  • Develop and refine a modern Arabic menu aligned with the brand concept.
  • Create seasonal and signature dishes rooted in Levantine, Khaleeji, and broader Middle Eastern flavors.
  • Work closely with management on menu engineering, costing, and food margin optimization.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Participate in kitchen layout planning, equipment selection, and supplier sourcing.
  • Develop full recipe books, SOPs, plating guides, and kitchen training manuals.
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training the kitchen team.

Quality, Hygiene & Safety

  • Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations (HACCP standards).
  • Maintain excellence in food quality, consistency, and presentation at all times.
  • Oversee inventory control, waste reduction, and efficient storage procedures.

Supplier & Cost Management

  • Identify, assess, and negotiate with local and international suppliers for ingredients and equipment.
  • Monitor food cost, labor cost, and overall kitchen P&L.
  • Ensure efficient stock management, cost control, and waste minimization.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Operations and F&B teams to align culinary direction with brand standards.
  • Participate in tastings, menu presentations, marketing initiatives, and special events.
  • Support the General Manager in achieving restaurant performance targets.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as
    Head Chef
    in reputable Arabic or Middle Eastern dining concepts.
  • Expert knowledge of traditional and modern Arabic cuisine, techniques, and ingredients.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
  • Experience in pre-opening projects highly preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen financials, costing, and inventory.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Immediate availability is mandatory.
