Job Summary:

The
Senior Planning Engineer
will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of a building construction and fit-out project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fit-out and building works and strong knowledge of project planning software, resource allocation, progress tracking, and earned value management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (Primavera P6 / MS Project) for the full scope of the building and fit-out works.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and consultants to gather inputs for schedule updates.
  • Establish baselines and regularly update schedules to reflect progress, delays, or changes.
  • Monitor critical path and key milestones, and proactively identify risks or bottlenecks that could impact timelines.
  • Analyze schedule impact of changes and variations and advise project teams accordingly.
  • Prepare and present detailed project progress reports (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) and productivity tracking to measure performance.
  • Support delay analysis and extension of time (EOT) claims, including preparation of time impact analysis (TIA).
  • Ensure alignment of planning activities with contract requirements and project specifications.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and resource planning.
  • Attend project meetings, client meetings, and coordination workshops.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum
    8-10 years
    of experience in project planning with
    at least 3 years in fit-out and building projects
    in the GCC.
  • Proficiency in
    Primavera P6
    and
    Microsoft Project
    is essential.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and project delivery processes.
  • Strong understanding of fit-out materials, suppliers, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Familiar with FIDIC or similar standard forms of contract.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience in Bahrain or GCC preferred.
