Senior Draftsman

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with specific experience in asphalt works, road construction, and infrastructure projects. The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, capable of interpreting complex technical drawings, and preparing accurate quantity take-offs and shop drawings related to asphalt paving and associated works.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering drawings for asphalt and road works using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Interpret and translate technical drawings, specifications, and design documents for construction teams.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for asphalt, base course, and sub-base materials.
• Coordinate with project engineers, planners, and site supervisors to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Update and maintain drawing records, revisions, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with company and regulatory standards.
• Assist in planning and scheduling asphalt works by providing accurate data and technical inputs.
• Support quality and safety teams with technical information during execution.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of
  10 years of experience
  in road and
  asphalt works
  , preferably within infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of
  engineering drawings, paving layouts, and road profiles
  .
• Proficient in
  AutoCAD
  and
  AutoCAD Civil 3D
  .
• Strong knowledge of
  asphalt mix design, layer compositions, and site execution processes
  .
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, logical thinking, and adaptability to project requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of
  Bahrain road and infrastructure standards
  (or local standards if applicable).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
