R&D Formulation Chemist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled
R&D Formulation Chemist – Personal & Home Care
to join our innovation team. This role will be responsible for
developing, testing, and optimizing formulas
for a wide range of personal hygiene, skin care, and wellness products. The chemist will ensure formulations align with our
brand promise of premium quality, medical-grade hygiene, and unique scent experiences
while meeting cost, stability, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Development
• Optimize formulations for
  efficacy, sensory experience, cost efficiency, and shelf life
  .
• Research & Innovation
• Evaluate novel raw materials, actives, and fragrance technologies.
• Testing & Validation
• Conduct
  stability testing, compatibility testing, and efficacy trials
  .
• Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure compliance with
  safety, performance, and regulatory standards
  .
• Troubleshoot formulation or manufacturing challenges.
• Regulatory & Compliance
• Ensure all formulas comply with
  local and international cosmetic regulations
  (e.g., GCC/SFDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation, FDA where applicable).
• Prepare technical documentation, product dossiers, and safety assessments.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with
  marketing
  to align products with brand positioning.
• Support
  production scale-up
  , providing SOPs and technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in
  Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or Chemical Engineering
  .
• 3–7 years' experience
  in formulation within
  personal care, hygiene, or cosmetic industries
  .
• Hands-on experience with:
• Surfactant systems (for liquid soaps, shampoos, cleansers).
• Emulsions & lotions (O/W and W/O).
• Alcohol-based systems (sanitizers, sprays).
• Scented oils, essential oils, and fragrance integration.
• Strong knowledge of
  regulatory frameworks
  in GCC, EU, and US (advantage).
• Familiarity with
  stability testing, microbiological testing, and efficacy evaluation
  .
