Under the general direction of the direct superior and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotels Group local policies and procedures, provide support and assist in achieving a high standard of documentation and record keeping across the training function. Ensure Learning & Development is moving the business forward. • Report directly to the Supervisor.
• Ensure cleanliness of the swimming pool (water surface, surrounding areas, plants, etc.).
• Check water and chemical levels and log readings regularly.
• Follow daily checklists and procedures.
• Assist the supervisor, therapist, and receptionist as needed, including relieving colleagues during days off or meal breaks.
• Serve guests at the entrance, providing towels, loungers, and setting up with towels and side tables.
• Ensure all relevant reports are passed on to the health club in charge.
• Attend and contribute to staff meetings and training sessions related to lifeguarding and first aid.
• Monitor the pool and pool users, exercising appropriate control.
• Communicate effectively with pool users and colleagues.
• Participate in all health club events.
• Assist in selling memberships.
• Anticipate and prevent problems and accidents.
• Intervene to prevent unsafe behavior.
• Identify emergencies quickly and take appropriate action.
• Provide immediate first aid to casualties.
• Vacuum and brush the pool.

• Physical fitness: you'll be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling.
• Literate: good reading, writing, and basic math skills.
• Flexible: willing to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Articulate: a warm, welcoming communicator who is easy to talk to.
• Certified as a lifeguard.
