Country Human Resources Senior Manager (CHRO & Banking) - Bahrain - Assistant Vice President

Job Description

The Country HR Officer (CHRO) for Bahrain & Banking is accountable for managing complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas within Bahrain. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple HR disciplines and their interactions to achieve the function's objectives. Commercial awareness is essential. The role typically involves delivering a full range of HR services to employees in Bahrain, with excellent communication skills necessary for negotiations at senior levels, both internally and externally. The role exercises control over resources, policy formulation, and planning.

Citi has been present in Bahrain since 1969 and has played an active role in the financial sector of Bahrain and the Middle East, being a leader in Corporate & Investment Banking and Islamic Banking.

What you'll do:

  • Provide a broad range of HR consulting services to client groups within Bahrain, including advice on talent acquisition, talent management, compensation, organization effectiveness, employee engagement, change management, and HR input on audits.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of HR principles and local employment law to resolve issues.
  • Partner with global HR teams and business leaders to assess and define strategies, organization structures, and role designs within Bahrain.
  • Attract and retain high-potential talent and support the development of a compelling employee value proposition.
  • Coach and develop leaders in performance management and talent development.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for Bahrain regulatory bodies.
  • Participate actively in the Citi Country Committee (CCC).
  • Support the HR Head of Middle East & Pakistan (MEP) & Banking HR Lead and be part of the MEP HR Leadership team.
  • Collaborate with other CHROs across the Middle East & Africa on pan-cluster initiatives.
  • Assess risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding Citi's reputation, and maintaining high standards of conduct.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven relevant experience in HR management.
