Overview

We are working with a globally respected, London-headquartered institute focused on international defence, security, and strategic affairs. It produces influential publications on military capabilities and global threats, widely used by governments and the private sector. The company runs specialised research programmes covering areas such as cybersecurity, nuclear policy, regional conflict, and strategic economics. It also convenes high-level dialogues attended by defence ministers, military chiefs, and diplomats across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.

This role would have a focus on Energy in the Middle East:

Responsibilities
  • contributing to analysis across various platforms.
  • supporting the firms fundraising activates, advisory services, and events/summits.
  • conducting original and independent energy research in the gulf.
  • supervising junior researchers.

Requirements
  • experience in academia, journalism, government, or industry (Energy related).
  • geopolitical knowledge, especially on Middle Eastern political and security dynamics.
  • have a Masters degree (ideally relating to the Middle East or your professional background).
  • a minimum of 3-4 years experience.
  • must be published (anywhere from academic postgraduate upwards).
  • excellent written English.
  • a FULL relocation to Manama, Bahrain (sponsored).
Ideal Requirements
  • being able to write and communicate in Arabic.
  • having a background in journalism, but now working in industry.
