**Job Title**: Junior Accountant
**Department**: Accounts and Finance
**Reports To**: Accounts Manager
**Job Summary**:
A Junior Accountant is an initial level finance professional responsible for assisting with financial record-keeping, data entry, and accounting tasks. They work under the supervision of senior accountants or financial managers to help maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, reconcile accounts, and support the overall financial operations of an organization. Junior Accountants often play a crucial role in ensuring financial data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
**Responsibilities**:
**Transaction Processing and Record-Keeping**:
- Posting vendor invoices, customer payments, sales invoices, expenses, and payroll transactions accurately in the ERP system.
- Filing documents and maintaining cash flow records and cash registers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Updating time sheets, creating payroll, and managing management personal reimbursement.
- Handling recurring payments and coordinating month-end close activities, including journal entries and daily cash cut off.
**Financial Reporting and Analysis**:
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data, including preparing periodic reports such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Presenting financial data to relevant stakeholders such as managers and investors in a clear and concise manner.
- Assisting management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statements.
**Financial Management Support**:
- Managing credit, providing financial advice, and making forecasts to support strategic planning initiatives.
- Compiling and analyzing account data to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Participating in audits to verify financial transactions, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
**Accounting Procedures and Compliance**:
- Preparing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial documents accurately and in accordance with GAAP or relevant standards.
- Recommending procedures and policies to maintain accounting controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Researching and interpreting accounting regulations and policies to resolve procedural questions and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
**Requirements**:
**Education**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred but not required.
**Skills**:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
