The Transport planner will be working under the Senior Transport Planner or the Team Leader Transport Planner for various Traffic studies project in Bahrain. The Transport Planner will be responsible for preparation of study, preparation of reports, QA/QC etc.

**The position of Transport planner involves**:
+ The ability to prepare Transport Notes, Statements and Reports and Site Access Appraisals.

+ An understanding of relevant Bahrain TIA, Parking guidelines and BRDM standard

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to**:
Using prescribed methods and under direct supervision, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

+ Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.

+ Prepares/ supervises the preparation of drawings and visual aids.

+ Performs basic survey work.

+ May run models, calculations and design software

**+ Assignments usually include one or more of the following**: calculations,preparation of plans and specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific narrow area of assignments.

+ Conducts calculation checks

+ Draws engineering conclusions for data analysis within area of technical proficiency.

+ Works on small projects or portions of large projects, with work reviewed by senior or appropriately experienced engineer.

+ Researches and ensures assignments meet regulatory and industry codes,Local laws and requirements, as well as client requirements.

+ Under direction of a professional or suitable experienced engineer, managers small tasks or portions of larger project

+ Attending meeting and taking MoM

+ Design Co-ordination with team members

+ Assist with delivery of program and profit objectives by completing tasks on time and budget.

+ Commit to continual professional development Expanding knowledge and skills in integrated transport/land-use planning, travel demand management and modal shift initiatives

Team Work

+ Maintain good communication and co-operate with all project team members.

+ Interprets and applies applicable government codes, ordinances and regulations.

+ Initiates actions necessary to correct deficiencies or violations of regulations.

+ Assists with updates and maintenance of Comprehensive Plan, transportation plan and land development regulations.

+ Acts as a liaison between community groups, government agencies, developers and elected officials in developing neighborhood plans.

+ Conducts extensive research in specific or general project areas.

+ Writes and presents formal and technical reports, working papers and correspondence.

+ Identifies community problems, issues and opportunities in particular neighborhoods that could be mitigated through better community planning.

+ Develops long range plans for communities with common developmental issues.

+ Develops strategies to promote economic and community development, or efficient land use consistent with community goals.

+ Evaluates adequacy of community facilities in meeting current and projected needs.

+ Recommends priorities, schedules and funding sources to implement public improvements plan.

Minimum Requirements

**Specific skills required**:
+ 2 years of experience in the field of Transport planning or similar

+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD

+ Preferred but not mandatory working knowledge use of modelling software's such as VISUM/ VISSIM/ Synchro

**Person Specification**:
+ Accuracy and good attention to detail.

+ High standard of work ethic and ability to use initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography or Transport Planning and Master's Degree will be preferred

+ Bahraini Nationals will be preferred
