Manama, Bahrain US Secretary of the Navy Offices (SECNAV) Full time

**Duties**:

- You will consult with staff at HQ and field offices to coordinate and establish acceptable security measures.
- You will monitor security programs, judge adequacy, and advise officers of state-of-the-art methods to cope with threats and vulnerabilities.
- You will coordinate and visit with field offices for first hand knowledge of security problems and resolution of the same to preclude risks and vulnerabilities.
- You will develop and document new security methods and procedures through appropriate coordination and publications.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position has been designated as a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD)position; Physical Security Certification (PSC) is required within 24 months of assuming the position and must be maintained the entire length of appointment.

**Qualifications**:
**GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and resolving complex security training issues; AND developing and implementing procedures to cover multiple security objectives to include anti-terrorism, force protection, information and operational security, and physical security.**
**GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting with analyzing security training requirements and methods that cover multiple security objectives to include anti-terrorism, force protection, information and operational security, and physical security.**

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

**Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree**:

**Additional information**:
Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) or relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.

This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
