Service Engineer Job Description

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for performing onsite testing and commissioning of power generators and light towers. This involves conducting necessary troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repairs to ensure optimal performance.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot control panels and automatic transfer switches.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Program and configure generator controllers.
  • Install or remove engine parts such as pumps, starter motor, actuators, alternator etc.
  • Perform generator paralleling and synchronization tasks.
  • Source genset spare parts utilizing manuals and software.
  • Prepare detailed service and technical reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in electrical engineering. A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.

  • BE or DAE in Electrical.
Physical Demands

The job requires regular standing, walking, and use of hands to manipulate objects or controls. Occasional stooping, bending, or reaching above the shoulders may be required. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Occasional travel is expected.
