About the Role

The Sales Manager position at IHG Hotels & Resorts offers an exciting opportunity to drive hotel growth and revenue. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for selling hotel rooms, meeting rooms, and food and beverage through direct client contacts, while promoting the desired work culture around the five core values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide market intelligence to support business decisions and monitor competitors' activities.
  • Refer sales leads to appropriate personnel within IHG to ensure smooth execution.
  • Negotiate optimum rates with new, existing, and prospective customers to drive revenue growth.
  • Manage account bases and service existing business to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Develop and maintain regular patterns of sales calls and meetings with key decision-makers in target markets.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Build profiles within local marketplaces through attendance at industry events and networking sessions.
  • Entertain clients, plan and conduct familiarization tours, and site inspections to promote the hotel's services.
Requirements
  • Travel when required to promote the hotel and develop potential business relationships.
  • Maintain regular contact with IHG hotels in your region and the regional reservation office to ensure alignment and cooperation.
  • Interface with operations on a timely basis to initiate tenders for business and assess sales and marketing data to inform business decisions.
  • Liaise with advertising agencies and stock control collateral to optimize marketing efforts.
Personal Qualities
  • Comply with hotel rules and regulations and provisions contained in the employment handbook.
  • Adhere to company grooming standards and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and be well-groomed and well-dressed at all times.
  • Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development.
