Job Description:
- We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team as a Product Development Specialist.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed technical designs using CAD software, incorporating precision and attention to detail.
- Develop design flows, maintain backup files, review tools, and select software for optimal functionality.
- Produce designs that meet targets for feasibility, performance, costs, quality, safety, legislation, and timing.
- Collaborate with management and senior designers to obtain critical design information and complete projects on time.
- Create schematics, flowcharts, and diagrams of design concepts and update product design files for easy retrieval.
- Assist in improving daily processes to ensure CAD systems meet customer requirements.
- Test new designs through computer simulations or future developments before building prototypes.
- Build prototypes using 3D printers or CNC machines and refine designs based on prototype inspection.
- Confirm final drawings and communicate with suppliers for technical topics.
- Inspect and confirm molds, tooling, and fixtures before production.
- Maintain codes for 3D printers, CNC machines, and numerical control machines.
- Implement complex instructions and diagrams to create or modify drawings.
- Provide inputs on process improvements, including replacement of failed parts, creation of new procedures, and design of new jigs.
- Carry out research on new production techniques, systems, and processes.
- Guide junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university.
- Minimum two to four years' experience in surface design, 3D printing, injection molding, thermoforming, or CNC.
- Able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of CAD systems and spatial imagination.
- Self-motivated and performance-driven individual.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Tactful, persuasive, and negotiable skills.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Mindful, alert, and reliable at all times.
