Occupational Health Support Specialist

The Occupational Health Support Specialist provides medical and occupational health support to MARCENT and 5th MEB units to preserve force health, identify workplace hazards, and apply best medical and safety practices. This role conducts health assessments, recommends preventive measures, educates personnel on occupational health programs, and ensures compliance with DoD and USMC medical policies. With 5–7 years of experience, the specialist applies knowledge in workplace safety, hazard mitigation, risk assessment, and emergency planning to safeguard personnel and ensure mission readiness. ***THIS EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provide occupational health assessments and workplace hazard identification.
- Recommend controls and preventive measures for workplace risks.
- Educate personnel on occupational health and safety programs.
- Maintain compliance with DoD and USMC medical and occupational health policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard mitigation planning.
- Support accident investigation and reporting requirements.
- Assist in emergency planning and response coordination.
Supplemental Duties:
- Assist in developing occupational health and safety SOPs.
- Support safety training programs and communication campaigns.
- Contribute to after-action reviews of safety incidents or hazard responses.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain occupational health documentation and medical compliance records.
- Ensure accurate archiving of risk assessments and safety reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Education/Experience/Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5–7 years of occupational health or medical support experience in a DoD or equivalent environment.
- Expertise in workplace safety management and occupational health practices.
- Experience in risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and accident investigation.
- Proficiency in safety training, communication, and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of emergency planning and response coordination.
- Strong interpersonal skills for leadership and instruction.
- Secret clearance required.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to identify workplace hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Strong communication skills for training and advising personnel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for hazard mitigation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety reporting tools.
Location:
Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters and 5th MEB, with responsibilities across associated facilities.
Work Environment:
Office and operational environments, including inspections of workplaces, facilities, and field sites.
Physical Demands:
Primarily office work with some physical activity during inspections, accident investigations, or emergency drills.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600.
Flexibility may be required for emergency response or inspections.
License and Other Requirements:
Valid U.S. Driver's License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).

Travel:
May include CONUS and OCONUS travel to support occupational health inspections, training, and incident response.
