Network Engineering Support Specialist

The Network Engineering Support Specialist provides engineering, configuration, and sustainment support for MARCENT and 5th MEB network systems. This role configures and troubleshoots complex network architectures, supports voice and video network integration, ensures compliance with cybersecurity standards, and provides recommendations for network improvements. By combining technical expertise with operational requirements, the specialist ensures secure, reliable, and mission-ready communications systems. ***THIS EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Plan, configure, and sustain network systems supporting MARCENT and 5th MEB operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in complex network architectures.
- Provide technical support for voice and video network integration.
- Ensure compliance with DoD, SECNAV, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network operations and configurations.
- Support testing, accreditation, and certification of network systems.
Supplemental Duties:
- Assist in developing SOPs for network operations and sustainment.
- Provide training to MARCENT staff on secure network usage and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to after-action reports and lessons learned for network outages or upgrades.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain compliance with MARCENT administrative procedures and reporting requirements.
- Archive network documentation according to records management standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Education/Experience/Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Must meet qualifications of SECNAV M
- DoD IAT Level II or above certification required (e.g., Security+, Network+, Voice/Video Network certification).
- Expertise in network configuration and technical support to complex network systems.
- TS/SCI clearance required.
Additional Skills:
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity and SECNAV standards.
- Ability to analyze and optimize performance of secure networks.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to support MARCENT staff.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and network monitoring tools.
Location:
Primary workplace is with 5th MEB, Bahrain, with coordination responsibilities across MARCENT facilities.
Work Environment:
Secure operational environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Includes support for both garrison and deployed networks.
Physical Demands:
Primarily office work with extensive computer use. May involve physical tasks for equipment installation or troubleshooting in operational settings.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600.
Flexibility may be required during outages, upgrades, or operational surges.
License and Other Requirements:
Valid U.S. Driver's License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).

Travel:
May include CONUS and OCONUS travel to support MARCENT and 5th MEB network operations, training, and sustainment.
