Team/Role Overview
The Markets Operations Officer is a position responsible for handling transactions originating from trading desks in the markets operations Hub for Middle east and North Africa. The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the confirmation, settlement and investigation of Foreign Exchange, Money Markets, Securities and Derivatives transactions.

What you'll do:

  • Processing of Foreign Exchange, Money Market, Securities and Derivatives as per procedures and industry standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with legal, regulatory policies, bank policies, procedures, accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in system implementation projects as well as system enhancement initiatives.
  • Work on all exception items in NOSTRO accounts, ensure that they are promptly investigated and that timely follow-ups are done with the defaulting parties. Work on monthly/quarterly proofing of General Ledger accounts
  • Be well conversant with departmental procedures, Management Information Systems and reporting & governance activities.
  • Demonstrate particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices
  • Escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency. Perform quality assurance reviews, procedural updates and report operational risk events in a timely manner.
  • Address queries and ensure quick and timely resolution of customer (internal and external) cases with respect to all products and processes handled by the unit.

What We'll Need From You

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication in English and French
  • Microsoft Office skills preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree/University degree
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
