Job Summary

The role involves managing and driving sales for a retail store through efficient store operations, customer service delivery, motivation and retention of personnel in adherence to company norms. The job holder is also responsible for managing and coaching the store team.


Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate store targets to the team and drive sales to achieve financial objectives
  • Maintain proper loss prevention standards and ensure compliance with cash handling, fraud and theft of products
  • Oversee and monitor all point of sales activities in the store including sales transactions, tracking customer orders and payments, registering sales and maintaining inventory updates, providing service, handling returns and refunds, gathering consumer data for feedback etc.
  • Manage cash transaction entry and management including petty cash, point of sales cash elements, change floats
  • Regularly audit own store administration and resolve any issues; assist in carrying out annual stock counts and spot checks
  • Monitor and handle customer complaints and take corrective action in line with policy; resolve customer complaints and respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner
  • Track and evaluate brand sales performance, research market trends and competitor trading activities to identify critical business factors and propose action plans to increase sales and profitability
  • Monitor and analyze sales reports and provide insights to maximize stock potential; report on the performance of new and core collections
  • Maintain window and in-store displays to a high standard in line with merchandising guidelines
  • Oversee and monitor inventory management in the store including stock availability, order management, back store management, stock movement within store
  • Ensure accurate stock merchandise and management including stock ageing, stock loss, space management within the store
  • Coordinate with facilities department on repairs or replacements of furniture or equipment; support company maintenance standards/programs to optimize asset life
  • Maintain staffing levels consistent with operational needs to ensure exceptional customer service; prepare schedules and ensure adequate shift coverage
  • Ensure seasonal peaks and important promotional events are taken into account when preparing forecasts and staff rosters
  • Ensure that the team is adequately trained in inventory management techniques such as in-bound movement of goods, receiving, stocking, restocking, transfers and managing inventory discrepancies
