We are looking for a talented Commis Chef to join our dynamic team at Calo Kitchen, working closely with senior chefs to ensure efficient meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, safety, and sanitation.
The successful candidate will have excellent culinary knowledge, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes to our discerning customers.
Main Tasks:
- Monitoring kitchen equipment and reporting any issues to superiors in a timely manner.
- Developing culinary expertise to produce exceptional meals.
- Preparing ingredients, sauces, and seasonings under the supervision of the chef de partie.
- Assessing inventory levels and requesting resupply as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Plating meal items to exacting standards under the guidance of the chef de partie.
- Disposing of spoiled items and adhering to strict sanitation regulations and safety standards at all times.
- Maintaining a positive and professional approach when interacting with colleagues.
- Producing visually appealing and delicious plates that meet our high standards.
Candidate Specifications:
- 1-3 years of experience as a commis chef or similar role within the hospitality and catering industry.
- Currently based in UAE.
- Excellent communicator in English.
- Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations.
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility is highly desirable.
