Senior Diving Performance Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced Diving Performance Coach to lead our high-performance diving programme in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of coaching elite-level divers and a strong understanding of athlete development principles, periodisation, and training methodologies specific to diving.
Main Responsibilities- Oversee daily diving operations in the Bahrain Development Centre, ensuring all activities related to the World Aquatics Development Programme are supported.
- Manage and coordinate the daily training of scholarship divers based in Bahrain, aligning training plans and periodisation with the World Aquatics competition schedule.
- Track and report competition results of scholarship divers, providing constructive guidance and feedback to help athletes develop essential skills.
- Mentor and create individual development plans for selected coaches, as identified by the World Aquatics Development Team.
- Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in diving coaching techniques and methodologies, providing clear guidance to build skills and boost performance.
- Contribute to setting the strategic and operational direction of the Bahrain Diving Development Programme, driving personal professional development by identifying new learning opportunities.
- Foster a culture of responsibility and commitment within the team to ensure consistency in training and competition performance, applying new skills and knowledge to practical coaching situations.
- Actively use feedback to identify areas for personal and professional growth, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness of the diving programme.
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity by fostering inclusivity and collaboration among individuals from diverse backgrounds, leading by example to instill accountability, integrity, and a growth mindset within the team.
- Assist the Scholarship Programme Manager in maintaining athlete records, visa documentation, insurance updates, and other administrative tasks related to diving.
- Support the preparation of reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication with athletes, coaches, and National Federations by managing correspondence.
- Oversee scheduling of meetings, appointments, and events related to the diving scholarship programme, providing support for additional administrative or operational tasks as needed.
- Proven experience as a high-performance diving coach, preferably at an international level, with a strong understanding of athlete development principles, periodisation, and training methodologies specific to diving.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire divers and coaches, combined with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic and diverse team, demonstrating a passion for high-performance diving and athlete development, and a commitment to World Aquatics' values and policies.
