The Head of Technical Development Group shall be responsible for the management and execution of IT-related projects from inception to completion and ensuring alignment with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, including developers and specialists.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and implementation of IT systems and applications.
  • Ensure best practices in software development, architecture, system integration, and IT security are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve any technical or operational issues as they arise.
  • Manage department budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and negotiate contracts with vendors.
  • Drive continuous improvement, keep updated of emerging technologies and industry trends, and recommend innovation strategies.
  • Report regularly to the department's director on project status, budgets, risks, and key technical developments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, cybersecurity requirements, and organizational policies (iGA & NSCS – National Cyber Security Center).
  • Collaborate with other departments to translate business requirements into technology solutions (automation and transformation).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years in technical support, including areas such as software development, website development, IT project management, and automation within the public or private sector in Bahrain.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English is essential.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
