HR Operations Specialist

**Role overview**
You will be a big player in Calo’s employee experience support, you will be responsible for assisting with the effective and consistent administration of the collective bargaining agreement, and providing support in creating great employee relations.
A broad role that can include handling benefits, compensation, records management, legislative compliance as well as location forecasting and budgeting, compliance and overseeing investigations and claims.
**Main Responsibilities**
**Employee Relations**
- Responsible for proper handling of grievances; establishing and maintaining a healthy management relationship.
- Ensure that employment decisions/actions which affect employees (i.e., demotions, separations, transfers, and disciplinary action measures) are made in a timely, consistent and lawful manner and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement as appropriate.
- Counsel department managers and leaders regarding employee relations issues and recommends actions consistent with labor and employment law and prior practices.
- Ensure compliance with all labor and employment laws.
- May participate in or lead in employee/labor relations related investigations.
- Develop and maintain a good relationship within the People and Culture Team.
- Provide assistance and follow-up on facility norms and understandings, procedures, and documentation.
- Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills.
**HR Admin / HRMS**
- Develop Human Resource solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommending courses of action.
- Maintain HRMS records up to date and compile reports from the database.
- Evaluate and up-date Human Resource standard work processes.
- Support a broad range of local and corporate strategic Human Resources initiatives to progress the Human Resource function within the team.
- Support all the people team country and regional Initiatives and Projects
- Partner with the benefit’s team and outsources benefits providers in assisting employees with questions and concerns regarding benefits and policies.
- Own all admin operations for onboarding & off boarding of employees.
- Bachelor’s degree. HR certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive experience with strong HR generalist background and deep knowledge of HR systems and processes.
- Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to develop and align HR initiatives to accelerate achievement of strategic business objectives.
- Big on empathy, and always puts themselves in other people’s shoes.
- Views HR as a customer experience center for employees.
- Strong understanding of industry HR best practices.
