Job Description

Gulf University seeks an exceptional Strategic University Administrator to join its team.

About the Role

The Chief Operating Officer will play a vital role in driving the university's administrative and financial operations forward. Reporting directly to the President, this position requires a highly skilled individual with a proven track record in leadership and strategic planning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to the President on key university matters.
  • Oversee staff administrative activities, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Supervise and coordinate the Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Facilities and Purchasing departments.
  • Facilitate all requirements to achieve and maintain administrative processes efficiently.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of academic strategic planning initiatives.
  • Manage all finances, collections, and budgets effectively.
  • Ensure the optimal management of buildings, grounds, repair, construction, and remodeling projects.
  • Oversee all purchases, including instructional materials, furniture, supplies, technology software, etc.
  • Manage staff salaries and benefits, including visas, housing, salaries, benefits, and government personnel regulations.
  • Contribute to personnel operations, including recruitment, contracting, termination, training, development, and induction programs for administrative staff.
  • Submit annual reports on the university's administrative and financial operations to the President.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
Requirements
  • Hold a PhD recognized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Have relevant academic and administrative experience.
  • Be of good conduct and behavior, with no convictions related to moral turpitude or dishonesty (unless legally rehabilitated).
  • Not have been dismissed from a job due to public morals-related reasons.
  • Be physically fit and healthy.
  • Not engage in any activities that could harm the reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain or its interests.
  • Not hold a post in any political association or be involved in political activities.

  • High-level administrative, guiding, and systematic decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain effective work relationships with staff.
  • Capacity to adapt to changes and evolving situations.
