We are seeking a results-driven and experienced business development professional to lead and oversee our high-performing business development team. This role is critical to driving revenue growth, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting strategic initiatives across multiple segments.
- Team Leadership & Management
- Manage and mentor the business development unit, ensuring clarity of roles, targets, and accountabilities.
- Oversee execution of business development plans across all segments.
- Conduct weekly team meetings, performance reviews, and training interventions.
- Sales & Pipeline Oversight
- Ensure accurate, timely CRM reporting and pipeline management.
- Monitor key performance indicators: revenue, square meter occupancy, event days, visitor impact, lead conversion.
- Allocate and track leads across the business development team, ensuring follow-up discipline.
- Operational Excellence
- Enforce ISO and compliance standards in business development processes.
- Ensure proposals, contracts, and reports meet high standards.
- Coordinate reporting across business development for weekly/monthly dashboards.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement (Secondary)
- Support segment leads in managing key accounts.
- Step in for escalated client issues or complex negotiations.
- Represent the organization at trade shows or sales missions when delegated.
- Strategic Support
- Assist the director of business development in preparing annual business development plans and reports.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to inform strategic decisions.
- Act as deputy for the director of business development when required.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional certifications in sales leadership/business development are advantageous.
- Fluency in Arabic with native proficiency is mandatory.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years in business development, with at least 3 years leading a sales/business development team in the exhibitions/events sector.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage business development operations effectively.
- Negotiation and client management experience.
- Ability to handle high-pressure, multi-tasking environments.
- Cultural intelligence and leadership in a Middle Eastern context.
