Administrative Officer

**Duties**:
- Prepare student reports through an automated system for school administrator use.
- Serve as official records manager for the school.
- Manage facility programs to ensure compliance to regulatory guidance.
- Present specific briefings to management officials and/or staff to support understanding.
- Consult with expert authorities on issues to implement recommendations.
- Maintain forms, process and/or other appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate budget execution for presentation.
- Draft interpretation of budgetary guidance for staff.
- Input data during the budget planning for the fiscal year.
- Maintain the student information management database for all students.
- Utilize a student information management system to enter course selections for new and/or returning students.
- Implement data collection techniques for collecting or electronically transferring student grades.

- Individuals hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are US citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.

**Specialized Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes managing an annual budget; utilizing information systems to gather data; and performing records management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).**OR**
**Education**: PhD or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Administration or Business Administration.**OR**
**Combination of Education and Experience**: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
- Administration and Management
- Financial Management
- Information Management
- Planning and Evaluating
**The Office of the Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) limits the number of Bahrain based DoD personnel accompanied tours. Dependent entry approval from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command is required for all accompanied tours prior to extending the final job offer and prior to issuing Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. Accompanied tours are not guaranteed.**

Consequently, host nation medical facilities may be the only care available. The availability and level of care at host nation medical facilities will vary by location.
- Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
- Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.
- Status applicants in their fourth year of an overseas assignment cannot be selected unless a waiver of the 5 year overseas service limitation requirement is approved.
- Selectees recruited outside the U.S. will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire.
